Prof's Take
I present fundamental concepts that underly modern bioinformatics, including a historical perspective and critical current trends in the field. Tutorial sessions in the basic skill set required to enter the field professionally are given. All concepts are reinforced with hands on projects and programming assignments. A capstone research project of professional quality is required in place of the final. The course prepares students to do professional level research.
